Ever wonder who the person pictured on a baseball card really is? Stats and a pretty face are only part of the picture...sometimes we need to dig a bit deeper to truly understand.

Welcome to Eight And Three Quarters Inches Squared, where we try to see who really is that person inside that piece of 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch card-stock.

Glenn Hubbard - The Meathead's Meathead

1989 FLEER
#12

Name: Glenn Hubbard
Position: Second Base
Team(s): Atlanta Braves, Oakland A's

During his minor league days, supported himself as a Rob Reiner look-a-like.  On off days and in the off-season, Glenn filled his days with radio appearances, grocery store opening, and car lot sales.  As the popularity of "All In The Family" grew, the look-a-like job was more demanding than ever.  After his 5th year in the minors, thought about doing the Reiner-job full time, but the 6th year is a charm, as the big leagues came calling.

Where are they now.

Glenn tried the look-a-like gig again once retired, but as if his playing days were a vacuum to him, the cold reality of the un-popularity of Rob Reiner sank in.  No more radio appearances, no more grocery store openings, no more anything...well, almost.  Once available of bookings, only activity directors from senior centers were on the other end of the line.

Current projects include a dinner theater adaptation of "All In The Family" and curating his 'Stache Hair of the MLB collection.
